Zulal Wellness Resort, which is being promoted as the largest wellness destination in the Middle East, has opened in Qatar.
The Gulf state is continuing to see a swathe of new hotels, restaurants and leisure projects, as the country prepares to host the Fifa World Cup tournament in a year’s time.
Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som in northern Qatar is being pitched as the region’s “first full immersion wellness resort”, with treatments based around traditional Arabic and Islamic medicine.
Daniele Vastolo, general manager of Zulal Wellness Resort, said: “We are excited to have created an experience for our guests that is unique to the state of Qatar and the region.
“Our team of outstanding wellness professionals have managed to create a truly innovative holistic offering, the first to feature traditional Arabic and Islamic medicine treatments, while staying true to Chiva-Som’s philosophy of achieving excellence and to our DNA.”
The new resort features two distinct areas including Zulal Discovery, which is a dedicated part of the resort for families with 120 rooms located between the desert, sea and the property’s lagoon.
Zulal Serenity caters for guests aged over 16 and features 60 rooms and suites, alongside extensive wellness facilities.
Berthold Trenkel, chief operating officer of Qatar Tourism, added: “Qatar is well placed to meet the demand for travellers looking for a wellness holiday, thanks to our extensive list of properties.
“The opening of Zulal Wellness Resort is another way the country is meeting the needs of every traveller, and we welcome guests to be the first to experience Zulal Wellness Resort and enjoy the very best of Middle Eastern hospitality.”
