In this fascinating session, Sevilla will explain how the fund has gone on to raise more than $8 million to help those in need with basic food supplies and to expand healthcare projects and testing across the country.

Rarely seen in media interviews, Sevilla will be talking to TTG Luxury editor April Hutchinson about how his own tourism infrastructure is surviving and how he has sought to support his 850 employees across Ecuador, and also in Peru and Colombia, keeping everyone in their jobs.

Ecuador is currently open to travellers, but access is upon evidence of a negative PCR test, and in the interview, Sevilla looks ahead to January, when he says reservations with his company’s tours and hotels are looking positive.

“People are waiting for the day when they can make a trip to a place like Galapagos,” he says.

He also ponders the possibility of travel companies securing vaccines so they can package them up within the cost of the trip in the near future.

In the mean time, he continues his huge conservation efforts, and during the interview, tells of his role in trying to stop a fleet of fishing vessels amassing around the protected area of Galapagos Islands, as well as trying to expand the protected zone.
