Silversea Cruises is to offer its guests complimentary private transfers from home to the airport from the spring
The company said it was the first “ultra-luxury cruise line to offer guests private executive transfers as standard”, with the move coming as part of a collaboration with global chauffeur service Blacklane.
Silversea said it was launching the service as a way of “enhancing the seamlessness of travellers’ journeys”, with guests able to be collected from their homes in a private chauffeured vehicle and transferred up to 50 miles to their local airport or directly to the ship, on out or return journeys.
The option is available in around 200 cities in 50 countries on new full-fare bookings for voyages departing from 30 March 2022 onward.
“We are delighted to offer our guests a full door-to-door journey on all voyages, further enhancing our all-inclusive offering for guests’ convenience,” said Roberto Martinoli, president and chief executive of Silversea. “With the introduction of Blacklane’s chauffeur-driven transfers, we are extending our trademark level of service to begin from the moment travellers leave their homes and end when they have returned.”
“We’re honoured to set a new standard in the ultra-luxury cruise experience,” said Jens Wohltorf, co-founder and chief executive of Blacklane. “With our private chauffeur service, the first and the last miles of guests’ trips are now built into the Silversea itinerary. It’s a five-star experience door to door.”
The new chauffeur service goes alongside other inclusions such as complimentary shore excursions, round-trip air travel and transfers between the airport and ship on all voyages in Silversea’s new 2022/2023 itinerary collection.
Silversea launches the ninth ship in its fleet next week, with Silver Moon setting sail in the Greek islands, including the full launch of its new S.A.L.T. culinary programme. The naming ceremony is onboard in Athens on 28 July.
