Silversea has launched a wellness programme to feature on new ship Silver Dawn called Otium, which aims to “elevate” the cruise experience for all passengers.
The programme, which has been “inspired by the ancient Roman lifestyle”, will be available onboard Silver Dawn when the ship begins sailing from spring 2022.
Otium will provide guests with a “customised, multi-dimensional wellness journey” starting in guests’ suites and extending to the redesigned spa, where massages and a range of other treatments will be on offer.
Guests will also be able to relax and socialise in the spa’s thermal areas where champagne and snacks will be available.
Barbara Muckermann, chief commercial officer of Silversea Cruises, said: “Otium is unlike any other wellness programme; it aligns perfectly with our brand positioning and will weave a tapestry of unprecedented comfort around our guests.
“It will revolve around instant gratification, extending the luxurious pampering for which Silversea is famous to different areas of the ship: from guests’ suites to the redesigned spa area and beyond. Otium will transform the way guests relax and enjoy their personal space. It will be an elevation of our already-high levels of comfort.”
Passengers will benefit from an “Otium-inspired” mattress in their suites, alongside an expanded choice of pillows. There will also be a “bespoke” bathing experience, prepared by Silversea’s butlers, in guests’ suites featuring bath salts and candles, as well as a playlist of classical music, plus canapes and champagne.
Otium will also extend to the onboard food experience, including a new in-suite “comfort” food menu, available 24 hours per day, including snacks such as lobster and caviar in brioche rolls, and gourmet popcorn.
