Silversea welcomes back travellers with first global TV ad

World-renowed photographer Steve McCurry is the star of Silversea’s first ever international TV campaign.

The 30-second television commercial, which invites “curious travellers” to rediscover the world, made its debut on major TV networks and streaming platforms in the UK and US this week.

 

It is now set to roll out in other global markets as part of an integrated, multi-channel campaign that also includes print, digital and social media.

 

McCurry, who has been a Silversea ambassador since 2017, features as the commercial’s protagonist, appealing to viewers to reconnect with the world’s authentic beauty.

 

From his suite aboard Silver Spirit he pens an invitation addressed ‘To the Curious,’ in which he writes: “To all of you who have been yearning to travel: It’s time. The world is reopening. Open up to the world.”

The campaign showcases beautiful places around the world including mountaintops in Bhutan and frozen landscapes in Antarctica.

 

“Silversea is facing its greatest expansion ever, but this growth coincides with a very peculiar moment in the history of travel,” said Silversea’s chief commercial officer Barbara Muckermann.

 

“The doors of the world were shut on us; now they’re reopening and it’s our responsibility, as the leading ultra-luxury cruise line, to reignite our guests’ passion for discovery and let them know it’s time to start exploring again safely, which is perhaps the greatest luxury of all right now.”
