Six Senses has announced plans for further expansion with new hotels in Portugal, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
The trio of new properties include Six Senses Lisbon, which will become the brand’s second hotel in Portugal.
The 114-room hotel, due to open in 2025, will be based in a converted 17th century palace in the centre of historic Lisbon.
Six Senses Kyoto, opening in 2024, will be the group’s first property in Japan and will be located close to the city’s Gion district, which is famous for its cherry blossom gardens.
The hotel will feature 81 rooms around a central courtyard, as well as a Six Senses Spa where treatments will blend traditional healing and Japanese Zen culture with the brand’s wellness experience.
Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea is scheduled to open in Saudi Arabia in late 2023 and will also be the brand’s first hotel in the country.
The property will be located within a desert “oasis” and feature open-plan rooms and terraces, while clusters of villas will offer panoramic views of the surrounding dunes. There will also be a spa and an all-day restaurant.
The brand is also working on a rebrand of the former Kanuhura resort in the Maldives, which will launch as Six Senses Kanuhura with 80 villas later in 2022 as a northerly sister to Six Senses Laamu.
