Taking time to plan private jet trips with a twist

Trekking an active volcano, seeing Ushuaia at sunset and shaving 85% of total travel time are among the highlights of new private jet itineraries created by Air Charter Service in collaboration with author and “time design expert” James Wallman.

The Journey To The End Of The World itinerary is the first in the Time Well Spent series of private jet travel itineraries, which will be available for travel agents to book.

Picking up on the notion of luxury travellers having “lost time due to the pandemic”, the packages have been designed by Wallman and ACS to create “the most rewarding travel experience in as little time as possible”.

Journey To The End Of The World includes Chile, Argentina and Bolivia, with private jet travel shaving hours off a similar itinerary using scheduled flights, taking only 23 hours, versus 163 hours on commercial airlines.

“This allows for a two-week trip that makes better use of time but creates no less of an experience – saving at least seven days’ worth of travel via alternative modes of transport,” said Gavin Copus, global business development director at Air Charter Service.

“Through private aviation and supported by James’ STORIES time-design concept, we can visit extraordinary destinations in a shorter space of time – but in a more comfortable, direct manner.”

The two-week itinerary includes stargazing with a specialist at San Pedro de Atacama, seeing Easter Island’s Moai statues, experiencing Patagonia, getting to see an active volcano in Chile and staying overnight in a camper van on Bolivia’s salt flats.

Wallman’s STORIES concept sees the creation of experiences and trips based around his criteria of Story, Transformation, Outside & Offline, Relationships, Intensity, Extraordinary, and Status & Significance.

“A trip based on this checklist ensures you are adding to your personal development and avoiding ‘empty’ experiences,” the author of Time And How To Spend It said. “Travellers who select these itineraries will not only take a break from their norm, but will embark on a life-affirming journey that provides them with show-stopping memories and stories.”
