Situated on the Ayrshire coast, this historic estate is the perfect choice for any clients who want to stay in The Traitors’ secluded filming location, Ardross Castle.
With the third season of The Traitors in full swing, viewers are desperate to know everything about the BBC One show’s iconic location.
Online searches for ‘which castle is The Traitors filmed in?’ and ‘Traitors house’ have skyrocketed in the past week, with fans growing desperate to know if they can visit the Highlands property themselves.
Unfortunately, Ardross Castle - which has been used as The Traitors location since its 2022 premiere - is not a hotel and its owners do not let individual rooms. The only way to stay in the property is to hire it for a specific event, such as a party or wedding. Rates start at £5,500 per night in low season, based on 18 guests.
For clients who simply want a hotel that looks like The Traitors’ lodgings (without the murder, of course), Glenapp Castle is likely your best bet.
Situated on the Ayrshire coast, this Relais & Chateaux gem bears a striking resemblance to Ardross Castle.
Both properties boast a Scottish Baronial style of architecture, with elaborate rooflines, turrets, sandstone battlements, and pointed arches.
The indoors are also similar; Glenapp Castle’s interiors look similar to many of the Victorian furnishings you’ll find at Ardross.
Its 21 guest rooms, 17 of which are suites, have been decorated to reflect the opulent history of the property - think high ceilings with chandeliers, button-back Chesterfield sofas and four poster beds. Oil paintings hang on patterned wallpaper, ornate curtains frame huge windows, and antique cabinets display precious china.
The Glenapp Penthouse Suite, encompassing the entire top floor of the castle, is easily the most luxurious option. Home to four ensuite bedrooms, this plush apartment can host up to eight guests.
There’s also a sauna, a beauty and treatment room, a library and games room, a media room, a period and kitchen and a private dining and lounge area. Guests also have access to a private rooftop terrace with 360 degree views of the estate and coastline, as well as full butler service and private chef.
Glenapp Castle’s main dining room is also the perfect venue for hosting a roundtable game, should guests wish to replicate the tense segment of the show.
There are also number of activities that wouldn’t be out of place on The Traitors missions, including wild swimming, falconry, curling, and stargazing.
