The Dorchester has unveiled its newly renovated ground floor, including the reimagined Promenade and Vesper Bar and the new Artists’ Bar.
The Mayfair hotel has introduced the Artists’ Bar, complete with a mirrored piano that belonged to American pianist Liberace. The bar is described as “a glamorous and sparkling area for fun evenings of champagne, seafood and entertainment”. A collection of artworks by artists working in Britain will be displayed throughout the bar.
The Promenade has been redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon, using colours inspired by the British landscape. The space includes The Grill, with a focus on modern British dishes; three Michelin starred French cuisine at Alain Ducasse; and Cantonese dining at China Tang.
The Vesper Bar is in a space that previously housed The Bar at The Dorchester, and it has been redesigned by Martin Brudnizki. It offers an expansive cocktail menu, and draws on the hotel’s links to the James Bond series and author Ian Fleming, who invented the Vesper Martini. Inspired by the roaring thirties, the new layout allows for a dedicated Park Lane entrance and an outside terrace with views towards Hyde Park.
