It’s that time of the week again, when we bring you the top luxury hotels to have caught our attention over the past seven days.

From a Bangkok property that’s just been named the world’s best hotel to a gorgeous retreat outside Cannes, this Wednesday’s lineup is easily one of our most star-studded to date. We hope our picks will give you the inspiration to make that special booking for your client – or even yourself.

1. Le Mas Candille

It’s been just three months since Le Mas Candille unveiled its refurbishment, and already, the investment looks to be paying off.

Located a short drive from Cannes in the village of Mougins, the historic property redesigned by Hugo Toro offers a retreat from the bustling city while still being connected to its attractions. Guests can check into one of the 46 rooms and suites, all of which follow a colour theme of warm yellows and muted greens. Its suites are housed separately from the main hotel in La Villa, a more modern building that has been constructed to blend into the natural landscape, while offering idyllic views of the hills of Grasse. For dining, Mediterranean cuisine awaits at Le Table de Pins, while drinks are served under Cypress trees at the botanical-esque bar.

Pass through a garden to access the Glowhouse, where you’ll find the Clarins-branded spa with a sauna, hammam and Kneipp cold pool, as well as a private swimming pool overlooking Provence.

Capella Bangkok
Capella Bangkok has been the named No.1 of the World's 50 Best Hotels 2024

2. Capella Bangkok, Thailand

Having just been named No.1 of the World’s 50 Best Hotels for 2024, Capella Bangkok’s place on this week’s list needs no explanation.

Overlooking the Chao Phraya River, this stunning property offers 101 rooms and suites that have been designed to counterbalance the chaos of the Thai capital. An airy, light-filled lobby greets guests at reception before they are escorted to their rooms, many of which include their own outdoor tropical space such as a terrace or private garden.

There are also riverside villas plunge pools, as well as a butler service called the Capella Culturalists. For dining, head of to one of the resort’s four restaurants (Cote by Mauro Colagreco has a Michelin star) and be sure to book a treatment at the stunning wellness sanctuary.

3. Royal Mansour Tamuda, Morocco

Royal Mansour Tamuda is officially ready to open, marking the third addition to the Royal Mansour Collection’s portfolio in Morocco; the brand is on a roll, having also just launched in Casablanca

The hotel, which includes 55 sandstone suites and villas, hopes to introduce visitors to the lesser-known destination of Marina Smir. All lodgings offer views of the Mediterranean, which is a few steps away, as well as the Rif mountains and the property’s lush gardens. There are four restaurants, including a traditional Italian eatery called Coccinella and a Spanish seafood restaurant called Le Mediterranee.

Other highlights include the spa, which opens in December 2024, and the wide menu of watersports available for guests to book via the hotel’s concierge.

Eden Boutique

4. Eden Boutique Hotel, Morocco

Still in Morocco, we move to the Eden Boutique Hotel, and while it may be a small property, it has not let size stop it making a big impression. Cradled by the High Atlas Mountains, this unique bolthole has been earning glowing feedback for its warm staff and stunning scenery ever since it opened in June.

There are 18 elegantly curated rooms, all of which feature the work of local artisans, as well as a garden oasis designed by renowned French landscape architect, Guillaume Berthier. Guests can relax by the rooftop pool or head to the Hammam spa, where traditional Moroccan treatments like Ghassoul clay body wrap and black soap gommage await. If that’s not enough zen for one day, soak up the views of the Monkey’s Fingers rock formations – they’re right outside the lobby.

5. The Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort

Sofitel Al Hamra
Sofitel Al Hamra is just 55 minutes from Dubai International Airport

The Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort has officially opened, marking the Accor brand’s third hotel in the Emirates. Located in the laidback city of Ras Al Khaimah, this beachfront property offers all the sophistication and luxury of Dubai without the flashy glare. Guests can expect 292 rooms and suites, nine of which have private pools, as well as the spacious ‘Maisons’, which have been designed for families and larger groups.

There’s also no shortage of places to eat, with a choice of six restaurants catering to a variety of different tastes and formalities. In true Sofitel fashion, French cuisine awaits at Reunion, which has been inspired by the boulangeries and bistros of the south of France. Other highlights include a spa with Clarins’ products, four swimming pools (one of which has a slide) and a fully-equipped gym.
