Riad Botanica is an absolute must for clients visiting Marrakech

Another week, another batch of gorgeous properties.

We’re back with the top five luxury hotels travel agents need to have on their radar right now, and as per usual, it’s a glittering round-up.

This Wednesday, we’re highlighting a new resort in the south of France, a plush Algarve hotel with a local twist and an art-deco riad in the heart of Marrakech. Our lineup also includes a restored 19th-century mansion in Mallorca and an Alpine sanctuary on Lake Maggiore, just in case you needed an extra shot of inspiration.

We hope that our picks will help you plan the perfect holiday for your clients, and maybe even yourself.

Les Vagues Hotel and Spa

If you’re a fan of southern France (I mean, who isn’t?) then this one’s for you. Les Vagues Hotel and Spa has officially opened in Arcachon, marking the first five-star resort to adorn the seaside commune. With rates starting at €300 a night, this ivory glass tower offers 45 guest rooms (13 of which are suites), a restaurant specialising in Basque cuisine, a Phytomer spa, and a state-of-the-art gym. It’s also just steps away from the beach, making it the perfect option for those who don’t want to trek far for their saltwater hit.

Viceroy at Ombria Algarve delivers an authentic Portuguese experience

Viceroy at Ombria Algarve

The Viceroy Hotel Group is set to make its Portugal debut this autumn, marking the second addition to the luxury lifestyle brand’s European collection. Situated in the rugged hills of the Faro District, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve promises to offer an authentic experience of the destination when it opens in October. The 76-room property, which has been designed in the style of a traditional Algarve village, invites guests to immerse themselves in the town’s pastoral culture; think sampling local ingredients, strolling through citrus groves and cooling off in the river. There’s also a spa with an indoor and outdoor pool, an 18-course golf course and five culinary options. Halfterm getaway, anyone?

Riad Botanica

Marrakech has welcomed yet another luxury riad to its growing hospitality scene, and we’re already drooling over the images. Founded last year by Australian entrepreneur Angela Mellak, Riad Botanica sits within the walls of the city’s 10th-century medina and is the perfect option for those who want to experience Morocco in style. The aristocratic guest house offers five accommodation options, including one apartment and four deluxe suites, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, a dining terrace, a rooftop bar and a courtyard with daybeds and cushion seating.

Posada Terra Santa

Mallorca may be most famous for its beach clubs and spa resorts, but that doesn’t mean it can’t keep up with the growing demand for boutique-style hotels. Ten years after its initial opening, Posada Terra Santa has been redesigned by the Rockwell Group to restore the grandeur of the 16th-century building while also breathing new life into its historic interior. The upgraded 26-room mansion continues to boast many of its original features, including an open-air courtyard, a winding staircase and traditional shuttered windows. There’s also a spa with a small heated pool, a sauna and a treatment cabin.

Boutique Hotel Stresa

Perched on the shoreline of Lake Maggiore, Boutique Hotel Stresa is the perfect choice for luxury clients passing through the Italian-Swiss Alps. The 30-room brand new hotel offers stunning views of the Alpine waters, a rooftop bar, a solarium with an infinity pool and a private spa with a Turkish bath and hydromassage. The property is also a 10-minute walk from the ferry port, making it ideal for travellers keen to explore the Borromean Islands.
