Ultima Collection has launched its latest CSR project, with a mission to donate 10,000 trees in partnership with One Tree Planted.
The brand – which includes a series of private residences, chalets, villas, and spas in Europe – will work with the non-profit organisation, which has projects worldwide and is dedicated to global reforestation and helping to restore biodiversity with meaningful social impact.
Ultima is starting the partnership with the planting of 10,000 trees across Europe in locations susceptible to deforestation – including Iceland, Scotland, Denmark and Italy – with the trees being planted by local partner organisations and community volunteers.
“Ultima Collection prides itself on giving back to the community and the environment and we are continually looking for ways in which we can improve our sustainable initiatives,” said Michala Chatel, managing partner at Ultima Collection. “Our new partnership with One Tree Planted highlights our commitment to the cause, and we look forward to going above and beyond our pledge in our first year of working with them.”
In addition to planting one tree for every guest, per night stayed at an Ultima property, guests will also be offered the opportunity to top up the donation.
“We are pleased to have secured this partnership with Ultima Collection,” said One Tree Planted founder and chief environmental evangelist Matt Hill. “We admire the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability – it is a great example of how hospitality brands can make a positive contribution to our planet.”
Ultima Collection has already incorporated a limited plastic policy, removing plastic bathroom amenities; uses biodegradable materials when appropriate; is removing single-use products; and collaborating with Nespresso Professionnel Suisse, who collect all used Nespresso capsules to recycle and repurpose.
