The Village is the latest estate on Moskito Island, Virgin Limited Edition’s private island in the British Virgin Islands, sitting across from sister island Necker.

The Village joins three other estates on Moskito, including The Branson Estate, The Oasis Estate and The Point Estate. The island made its debut in late 2021.

Located in the cliffside on the western tip of the island, The Village offers sea views across to the island of Virgin Gorda. It’s set in 3.5 acres, with multiple cottage-like structures with thatched roofs. The nine bedrooms can accommodate up to 18 guests and the estate is only available for exclusive buyouts.

It features a hidden DJ booth that rises from the outdoor deck overlooking a two-storey infinity pool, while a slide wraps around the edge of the estate. In 2023 a cantilevered glass-bottom hot tub will be complete, extending over the cliff edge.

Virgin Limited Edition managing director Jon Brown said: “The debut of The Village is the next phase in the continuous evolution of Moskito Island – a private island escape unlike any other. A decade in the making, The Village takes luxury to new heights, much like its sister estates, with an impressively striking design, state-of-the-art creative amenities and unspoiled panoramic views in the most private of settings.

“Moskito Island knows no limit when it comes to providing incomparable, luxurious moments and adding The Village to our collection further amplifies our position as the leaders of luxury in the Caribbean.”

Each room offers an ensuite bathroom, private living room space and terrace or patio. The two-storey Master Suite is designed in a loop with a 360-degree wrap-around terrace. The estate also includes a communal bar, and a spiral staircase leads to the estate’s rooftop. As guests climb the stairs the audio-synced, LED lights will move to the beat of the music, with a “stadium-quality sound system”.

There is a swim-up bar and a glass-encased submerged dry lounge in the centre of the pool, complete with a sunken fire pit. The main pool is also home to a spiral slide, leading to a second pool.

Additional amenities include a gym, home cinema, pizza oven and an organic kitchen garden.

Guests can also use the island’s communal recreational areas including two tennis courts, a watersports centre, gaming, entertaining and movie areas in the communal Beach House, and a fully serviced private beach.

Gastronomy options include a range of dining locations and tailored experiences, ranging from picnics on Manchioneel Beach to candlelit dinners and pizza-making classes at The Beach House. Spa treatments are available in each estate or in private locations across the island.

Rates for The Village start from $19,000 per night during low-season, for up to 18 guests. Rates include an estate manager and team of staff, with a team of private chefs across the island. All meals, drinks, non-motorised watersports and a personalised itinerary are included.
