Italian hospitality brand VRetreats has added five hotels to its portfolio in Siracusa, Lecce, Olbia, Cervinia and Florence.
VRetreats was founded in 2021 with three properties and today features nine hotels and historic residences, with plans to reach 12 by the end of 2023.
The new properties include Hotel Roma in Siracusa, Sicily, housed in a late 19th-century palace and built in the same limestone as the Greek temples. A project is planned to renovate the hotel’s common areas and rooms.
In Puglia the brand welcomes Palazzo Sant’Anna in Lecce. The three original blocks have been renovated, two from the 18th century and one from the 14th century. Each room is unique in style but all have been created using oriental techniques of Vatsu Shastra, which focuses on optimal energy flow.
Cala Cuncheddi in Olbia, Sardinia, is a contemporary-style resort just a few steps from the sea and private beach, overlooked by an infinity pool.
Cervino is a five-star hotel due to open this autumn in Valle D’Aosta, on the Italian-Swiss border in the heart of the Alps, while Il Tornabuoni in Florence is housed in a historic building dating to the 13th century.
In a statement the brand said: “The path of development has been constant and gradual, always focused on the search for unique addresses of great artistic value. VRetreats appreciates original Italian buildings that enhance nature and history.”
The additions come as the hospitality brand revealed it plans to end 2023 with a turnover of more than €57 million, up from more than €33 million in 2022. It is forecasting reported adjusted quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of more than €20 million for 2023, and an investment of €24 million in new properties.
Gabriele Burgio, president and chief executive of Alpitour World, which VRetreats is part of, said: "We are very satisfied with the work that has been achieved. It is a fine example of clear vision and development of strategic assets for our country’s business and tourism.”
