1. A major new leisure attraction at the Northern Defences has been given the green light, which will include heritage tours, zip lines, rock and wall climbing, archery and children’s play inflatables. The £4 million leisure facilities will be managed by Fortress Attractions, and a large part of the heritage site will remain accessible for the public to explore and use as a picnic area.

2. World War Two Tunnel Tours is a new partner on the stand this year. The popular visitor attraction has recently been refurbished with dynamic displays depicting Gibraltar’s strategic role in the war and espionage history. There’s a new conference centre featuring a replica Spitfire hanging from the ceiling, a shop and the Tunnellers’ Rest Bar.

3. Also making its debut on the stand is Hollow Rock, a multi-media experience deep inside the Rock of Gibraltar. Visitors experience a journey 200 million years in the making, and round off their visit in the tap vault to enjoy craft beers brewed within the heart of the Rock and sample award-winning spirits from the Gibraltar Distillery Company in a fully functional microbrewery.

4. Returning to the stand will be Sunborn Gibraltar, the World’s first five-star floating yacht hotel with infinity pool, which is the sister hotel to Sunborn London based next to the Excel Centre.

5. Gibraltar is undertaking various initiatives on its journey to net zero, including an ongoing trial using hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) on Gibraltar’s buses. A project is also underway to install photovoltaic panels at Gibraltar International Airport, which is expected to increase by two thirds the amount of electricity generated by solar energy across Gibraltar. Carbon literacy training has been introduced in schools and young people have been enlisted as learning ambassadors to identify and address their specific climate concerns with the government.

6. The Visit Gibraltar team is offering sampler Gin and Tonics at 4pm daily. Showcasing the award-winning, fully sustainable and handcrafted Campion and Candytuft Gins, enjoy a first-class G&T made with the indigenous Gibraltar Candytuft plant by Spirit of the Rock.
