Aer Lingus is continuing to ramp up services at Belfast City airport with the announcement on Tuesday (28 February) of a new route to the Isle of Man.
The company’s franchise operator, Emerald Airlines, will fly between the Northern Irish capital and the isle four times a week, with services increasing to six times a week over the peak summer season.
“We look forward to continuing to grow our services, providing more options for those travelling to and from Belfast,” said Emerald executive chair Connor McCarthy.
The Irish carrier has taken advantage of Flybe’s collapse in late January to increase its operations at Belfast City airport, adding more than 200,000 seats for this summer.
The new destinations – which were announced earlier this month – include Newcastle and the East Midlands. Aer Lingus has launched a recruitment campaign in both Dublin and Belfast to support its expansion plans.
