Aer Lingus will operate a new service from Dublin to Denver next year and re-launch its Minneapolis-St Paul route.
Denver flights, which will operate four times a week, will begin from May 17, 2024, bringing the total number of routes operated by the airline between Ireland and North America to 18.
Flights to Minneapolis-St Paul commence on 29 April, increasing from four-times weekly to a daily year-round service from next October, when the aircraft will switch to a single aisle Airbus A321XLR.
Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus chief executive, said: “Denver and Minneapolis-St Paul are significant business destinations within the US and the new Aer Lingus routes facilitate corporate links and connectivity between Europe and North America through our Dublin hub.”
She added Denver would appeal to leisure travellers, particularly in winter.
“Denver’s position as the ‘Gateway to the Rockies’ and its outdoor appeal, from world class skiing to hiking, opens up a whole new US experience to leisure travellers from Ireland and Europe.”
Aer Lingus now claims to rank fourth in the world in terms of its long-haul network to US gateways. It offers connections from numerous points in the UK with pre-clearance of US immigration and customs at Dublin.
“This summer has been our biggest yet, with 2.25 million seats to North America and the successful addition of Cleveland, Ohio to our network,” said Embleton. “We are confident in our growth strategy and look forward to welcoming customers onboard these two new routes next year.’’
