An AI start-up has commissioned former Abta head of membership Danny Waine’s new consultancy to help it launch to the trade, claiming its tools will allow agents to further personalise their service to clients.
SystemsX uses AI and machine learning technologies to support three "solutions" for the travel industry; these span sales, personalisation and customer support, automation and content generation, and back office efficiencies.
Sense supports sales and customer teams with insights, tailored recommendations and travel-specific AI assistance; Content automates content creation harnessing the user’s tone and style to ensure consistency, and Bridge automates booking data transfers and invoicing.
Besides agents, SystemsX will look to work with tour operators and other travel service providers.
"SystemsX makes it easier for agents to handle enquiries and deliver personalised service," said Waine. "Sense guides agents by suggesting key questions to narrow down client needs, recommending holidays based on the enquiry, and allowing them to ask travel-specific questions and receive instant guidance.
"Sense supports less experienced agents in their development, while enhancing the knowledge and efficiency of more experienced agents, and Bridge takes care of the time-consuming tasks like transferring booking details and reconciling invoices, so agents can focus on growing their business and delivering great customer experiences."
Waine left Abta at the end of the year to launch Travel Nomads, a consultancy designed to help aspiring travel entrepreneurs bring their dreams and visions to fruition, utilising his expertise in sales strategy, business development, relationship building and account management.
Prior to joining Abta, Waine headed up commercial at Hotelplan’s Interhome brand. He is a co-founder of overseas wedding specialist Perfect Weddings Abroad and was a member of the TTG 30 Under 30 Class of 2013.
SystemsX co-founder Gareth Arnold said the firm’s mission was to "empower" travel businesses to utilise AI, the use and deployment of which is commonly seen as being too complex or too expensive for smaller businesses like agencies, or a threat to their existence.
Waine added its systems would help travel businesses grow their revenue while delivering efficiencies and cost-savings.
SystemsX counts among its backers Simon Powell, chief executive of Inspiretec and a long-time investor in technology-oriented solutions for the travel sector.
