The first direct air connection between Europe and Honduras and run by a European airline is now up and running.
The weekly flight is being operated by Air Europa, departing Madrid each Wednesday before returning from San Pedro Sula on the Thursday.
Brits choosing to take the flight instead of going via the US can avoid the country’s immigration controls.
Air Europa’s UK managing director Colin Stewart said: “We are thrilled about the launch of this new route – our first flight into Central America.
“It’s also a big coup for our group – Globalia – to be the first European airline to run a direct flight from Spain to Honduras, and will offer huge benefits to our passengers.”
