The Airport Operators Association (AOA), the trade body for UK airports, will rebrand as Airports UK later this year, chief executive Karen Dee has confirmed.
The association, which represents more than 50 airports across the UK, will adopt a new logo and branding at a yet-unspecified date "later in 2024".
Dee made the announcement at a gala dinner on Tuesday (19 March) marking the AOA’s 90th anniversary.
"We are proud of our heritage at the AOA representing the UK’s airports and aerodromes having been formed 90 years ago this month," she said.
Dee continued: "Our members will still benefit from the unrivalled representation we provide on their behalf to decision-makers, the regulators, the media and colleagues from across the aviation sector."
She added: "Air travel is now more popular and accessible to more people than ever before, and it is important this remains the case so everyone can enjoy the benefits of travel.
"We will continue to make the case for this under our new name, Airports UK, as we all look to the future and seek to address the challenges we never even considered back in 1934."
