Ambassador Cruise Line has been forced to cancel a second cruise due to a lifeboat issue onboard Ambience.
The vessel remained docked in Tilbury on Monday (19 December) after its three-day Festive Market Getaway cruise on Sunday (18 December) was cancelled due to a fault with the ship’s onboard lifeboat station.
Ambience will arrive at a ship repair yard in Bremerhaven to undergo repair work after the line was unable to address the issues in port.
As a result, the vessel’s scheduled 15-night Christmas and New Year Canary Islands cruise, due to sail on Wednesday (21 December) with 1,400 guests, has been cancelled.
A spokesperson for Ambassador said: "It is never an easy decision to cancel any itinerary, particularly at this time of year, and we would like to apologise to all those guests that were due to sail with us for this cancellation and any inconvenience this may cause.
"We are communicating transfer and compensation options to our guests, and any additional concerns they might have will be dealt with by Ambassador on a case-by-case basis in the days to come."
