Andy Freeth takes CEO role at JG Travel Group

Backed by specialist leisure investors Kings Park Capital, Freeth – former If Only chief – has been appointed to lead the business through its next phase of growth from 1 January.

Luis Arteaga, the current chairman and chief executive, will retain the role of chairman and will "actively assist Andy in delivering the group’s plans over the coming months and years".

Arteaga said: "We are excited to bring Andy into our business and look forward to welcoming him in January.

"Although 2020 has been a really challenging year for our sector we are confident that the UK domestic market will recover swiftly.

"We acquired National Holidays in the summer and, along with our other brands Just Go! Holidays, Omega Breaks and Albion Journeys, we are the clear market leader and positioned amazingly well for when our sector bounces back.

"We remain dedicated to inspiring everyone to get out more in life by creating memorable experiences."

Freeth added: “I am really looking forward to joining the board of the JG Travel Group and I am excited to be involved in the domestic travel sector.

"We create hundreds of different UK and European tours and experiences, from coastal breaks, to heritage, culture and theatre tours.

"I cannot wait to join the team and support them in developing the existing brands, expanding the product range and making the most of the fantastic opportunity we have with the acquisition of National Holidays.
