Anguilla has announced a day four test requirement for all international leisure visitors, which will to come into effect on 1 October.
The new policy is in addition to a PCR test travellers must take on arrival to the Caribbean island. A single payment of £145 will cover the cost of the two tests, which is payable via an online portal.
There are no quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated adults, pregnant women or children under the age of 17 staying in hotels, resorts or licensed villas.
Guests however must remain in their accommodation while awaiting the result of their test-on-arrival, which is usually delivered within 12 hours.
Provided this is negative, they can freely move around the island before receiving their day four test.
All international visitors must also submit proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken three to five days prior to arrival on the island. Proof of vaccination must also be uploaded to an entry application portal.
According to Anguilla’s executive council, a fully vaccinated traveller is one who has received their second vaccine dose at least three weeks prior to arrival.
A council spokesperson said: "Visitors are asked to adhere to and respect the Covid-19 protocols of business and establishments on the island, which include wearing a face covering in indoor public spaces, always maintaining social distance of a least three feet between people in indoor settings and observing proper hygiene with frequent hand washing or using hand sanitiser."
