Antonio Fellino has been appointed managing director of dnata Travel Group-owned Travel Republic, having served in the role on an interim basis since January 2019.
Fellino has previously worked in various leadership roles with dnata after he joined the firm from Thomas Cook in 2014, after spending five years at the tour operator as head of ecommerce.
As vice-president of B2C ecommerce and retail between 2016-2019, he led the transformation of dnata Travel leisure in the UAE into a fully integrated business that encompassed both ecommerce and digital businesses.
As managing director of Travel Republic, he will oversee the delivery of the OTA’s digital transformation plan, build further on the improvements to conversion and support dnata’s commitment to invest in its technology.
Fellino said there is "tremendous potential and opportunity" within the business "as it emerges from the pandemic".
"We’ll be focusing on how we can use technology to build further on the gains we’ve made as a trusted OTA with the customer at its heart, and ensuring their experience is frictionless, secure and engaging," he added.
