APT will charter a new ship next year to sail the Mekong.
AmaMekong will sail exclusively with APT starting October 2020, offering larger suites, more public space, three restaurants, and a new pool area with cafe.
The ship features 44 suites, all with balconies, accommodating a maximum of 88 guests, with balcony suites boasting panoramic views and outdoor space.
It will operate all three of APT’s Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries upon its debut.
AmaMekong’s main restaurant will service local dishes and western classics, while its Indochine restaurant, curated by chef and brand ambassador Luke Nguyen, will aim to offer an authentic taste of Vietnam through a specially designed five-course menu.
Guests after a lighter meal can head to the ship’s alfresco cafe, which by night becomes a grill hosting barbecue dinners on selected nights.
Public areas include the pool bar and cafe, as well as an air-conditioned lounge serving afternoon tea.
Alternatively, there is also a sundeck complete with sun loungers and cocktails, or a spa and wellness centre offering massages and other treatments.
APT’s 15-day Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights river cruise and tour includes an eight-day cruise with six days’ land travel.
Prices lead in from £4,995pp, based on two sharing, departing 17 December 2020. APT is currently offering free premium economy flights, subject to availability.
