The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) is inviting nominations to honour those in the travel industry who have made a significant contribution over the last 12 months.
The winners will be announced at the AWTE’s annual Christmas lunch at 8 Northumberland in London on 30 November.
Travel industry employees can nominate themselves, a colleague or someone they admire as well as a company they believe really supports women in the industry.
Nominations are open for the following categories and can be completed here:
• Honorary award – Honouring a female who has gone above and beyond in the past year to challenge the status quo as a thought leader in the industry.
• Ambassador award – This award recognises a travel industry male professional who actively encourages, enables, and supports women in business.
• Mentor of the Year award – This award recognises a member who positively affects others via demonstrated mentorship qualities.
• Social Impact award – For an individual or brand that has shown innovation in ways that have positively impacted the travel community or has developed their strategy in a sustainable and impactful way.
• Inclusion award – For a travel brand that has shown outstanding commitment to equality on its board and across the whole business, allowing women to reach their full potential.
• Rising Star of the Year award – For an individual who is 30 or under, relatively fresh to the industry and has made a significant impact.
The deadline for nominations is 31 October 2023.
Chair Lindsay Garvey Jones said: “The last 12 months have really been amazing although so much has been asked from everyone in travel as the industry bounces back to pre-pandemic levels, without the same level of resources.
“The resilience of this incredible industry and its people is truly phenomenal. With so many people going above and beyond in the last 12 months, this is an ideal opportunity to recognise those efforts.
"For 2023, we have introduced a new category, mentor of the year, to recognise those who have supported others on their travel journey.”
Last year, AWTE named TTG Media chief executive Daniel Pearce as its male ambassador of the year.
It described Pearce as a “fierce champion and vocal supporter of diversity and inclusion” and praised his commitment to “driving equality in travel”.
