British Airways has expanded its portfolio of US destinations by launching direct services between London and Cincinnati, Ohio.
The carrier said on Wednesday (7 June) that weekly services will help consolidate its position as the largest overseas carrier in the US, as it is already serving 26 other destinations around the country.
During the summer flying season, flights will depart on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays while in the winter services will not operate on Tuesdays.
According to Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ director of networks and alliances, the route will be a “success” because it has been requested for a long time by both business and leisure travellers.
“Our incredibly positive and welcoming conversations with the airport team, the business development community and tourism partners – combined with all the region has to offer visitors from outside the US – were a clear sign that Cincinnati was the right place to expand our flying in America,” he added.
His words were echoed by Cincinnati airport chief executive Candace McGraw, who said the new route offers “tremendous growth opportunities for business travel, economic development and tourism between the UK and our region.”
