Bahrain has eased its Covid-19 travel rules and says it is ready to start welcoming back Brits.
As of Sunday (20 February), visitors no longer need to undergo a PCR test on arrival. The kingdom has also removed quarantine requirements for all arrivals, regardless of vaccination status.
The changes have been outlined by the country’s national aviation authority. A vaccination certification card, though, may be required to enter some venues.
The Foreign Office has updated its advice to reflect the changes. "From 20 February 2022, there is no PCR testing nor quarantine requirements for any arrivals regardless of their vaccination status," said the FCDO. This includes those arriving via the King Fahd Causeway bridging Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
"Vaccinated arrivals may receive a ‘vaccination certification card’ on arrival which will allow access to indoor public services in-country, depending on Bahrain’s traffic light alert system. You will need proof of official Covid-19 vaccination status to receive the card."
Bahrain is accepting proof of vaccination without a QR code where issued by the UK, the US, European Union member states, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Israel, said the FCDO.
"Full vaccination status is deemed as those with vaccines approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) or Bahrain."
