Barbados has ended quarantine and testing on arrivals for travellers not fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The new rules came into effect from 20 August said the Foreign Office in an update to its travel advice for the destination.
It means non fully-vaccinated arrivals into Barbados can enter on the basis of a negative pre-travel test for Covid.
For PCR tests, these can be taken up to 72 hours prior to arrival, while for antigen tests, the time limit is 24 hours prior to arrival.
"From 20 August, unvaccinated arrivals are no longer required to quarantine or to take a test on arrival," said the FCDO.
"Once you have completed a health check and your documentation (pre-arrival test) has been validated, you will be free to move around Barbados unhindered."
The Visit Barbados website’s official travel protocols guidance, however, warns that fully vaccinated adult arrivals – travelling together as a couple or group with non-fully vaccinated arrivals – will be subject to the same rules those that are non-fully vaccinated.
"If a fully vaccinated adult traveller is traveling with an unvaccinated adult traveller, 18 years and older, and they choose not to be separated, then the rules applied to the unvaccinated traveller will also apply to the fully vaccinated traveller," reads the guidance.
