Becky Hill performs as Marella Voyager named in Malaga
Daniel PearceMarella Cruises named its newest ship Marella Voyager during a spectacular christening ceremony in Malaga on Wednesday night (31 May) led by Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter Becky Hill.
The ship’s two godmothers, Marella chief purser Tatyana Olkhovska and Jacqui Nobile, senior destination services operations manager, released the champagne bottle to name the ship, the fifth in the line’s fleet, in front of an invited audience of more than 800.
Marella Voyager offers a number of new facilities for the UK market, including restaurant Silver Fork with British classics; Mexican eaterie Abuela’s; and out-of-the-way bar The Exchange.
The vessel sets sail on its maiden customer voyage from homeport Palma on Saturday (3 June).
Marella Cruises’ managing director, Chris Hackney, said: “The launch of Marella Voyager marks an exciting moment in time for us, and the evening was a true celebration of the hard work and dedication that has gone into its debut.
“Marella Voyager is part of our strategic vision to continually modernise and grow our fleet. We pride ourselves on continuing to offer more for our customers, whether that’s new ships, new destinations or our all-inclusive as standard offering and fantastic, friendly service.”
