Blue Bay Travel has added six new personal travel advisors to its sales team, including four colleagues who have been seconded from other departments and two external hires.
The new appointments – which bring Blue Bay Travel’s sales team to 24 – include existing staff Kelsey Jenkinson and Brooke Smith, who have moved into the sales team from the customer service department, as well as Claire Malpass and Alicia Bebbington who have been seconded from the administration department.
New hires include Alayna Carrier, who started her travel career in May 2022 with Polka Dot Travel before joining Blue Bay in April 2023 as a personal travel advisor.
Laura Brookes, meanwhile, rejoins the company after she left Blue Bay in 2008 to launch a valeting business, before she returned to travel in 2015 working for Tui followed by Cruise118.
The appointment of four existing employees to the sales team is part of Blue Bay Travel’s secondment scheme, which gives colleagues the opportunity to try their hand as a PTA for an initial six-month period.
The secondment runs from 3 April until 30 September 2023 and colleagues take part in a four-week training programme alongside the external new starters.
Alistair Rowland, chief executive for Blue Bay Travel, said: "We’re excited to welcome Alayna to Blue Bay Travel and are delighted to have Laura back.
"It’s wonderful to have four colleagues join the sales team under the secondment scheme too. The scheme is designed to encourage talent from other departments to try their hand at sales, without having to commit to a permanent career change."
