Channel Islands carrier Blue Islands will expand its Ibiza programme next summer, and plans to further expand its network over the coming weeks.
The airline will offer direct Jersey-Ibiza flights for 10 weeks, from 6 July through to 14 September. The weekly flights will operate on Thursdays.
Chief executive Rob Veron said the decision came in response to demand in recent years. "These services have proved popular over the past few years," he said. "For summer 2023, we have increased to a 10-week Ibiza programme."
Veron added the extension formed part of the carrier’s plans to expand in a complementary, sustainable manner, focusing on offering direct connections.
"As Jersey’s local airline, we’re delighted to be complementing our scheduled services with options such as Ibiza direct," Veron continued. "Keeping the island well connected is key to our socio-economic wellbeing – our role is to provide high frequency, year-round sustainable services.
"This year we added services to Dublin, Norwich and Rennes. We’re actively developing plans for more direct services, which we hope to announce in the coming weeks."
