British Airways will restart flights to mainland China in the spring after a two-year absence owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tickets went on sale on Thursday (2 February) for flights to Shanghai, which will get under way again from 23 April, and Beijing to which BA flights will resume from 3 June.
BA will operate its Shanghai route daily, and its Beijing services four times a week. BA announced its return to China hours after Virgin Atlantic confirmed it would resume flying to Shanghai in May.
Noella Ferns, British Airways’ head of sales for its Asia Pacific region, said: "We can’t wait to welcome our customers back on board our flights from Shanghai and Beijing.
"We know they’ve been looking forward to reuniting with family and friends, coming to study in the UK and resuming business between China and the UK."
BA has been flying to China for more than 40 years, with its inaugural service taking off in 1980.
