Winter-sun destination Cape Verde has updated its Covid-19 vaccination requirements for international visitors.
The archipelago, located off the west coast of Africa, now considers a visitor fully vaccinated if they have had both doses of a Covid vaccine plus a booster at least 14 days before travel. Alternatively, visitors can have one dose of the one-shot Janssen vaccine plus the booster.
These rules apply for all adults as well as children aged 12 and above. Travellers aged 11 and under are exempt from testing and vaccination requirements.
The change was confirmed by the Foreign Office (FCDO) in its update travel advisory for Cape Verde.
Visitors who are classed as being fully vaccinated can enter Cape Verde without needing to take a Covid test or quarantine, but they need to present proof of vaccination status at check-in for the flight to Cape Verde.
Cape Verde will accept the UK’s printed version of proof of Covid recovery and vaccination record. But the destination will not accept digital proof of vaccination status.
