Captivating Cuba is "liaising with the CAA" to assist customers of fellow specialists Live Cuba and Cuba Direct after their parent company, Live Holidays, ceased trading as an Atol holder on Tuesday (4 October).
In a statement, Captivating Cuba said it was sorry to hear of the Live Holidays. "We have worked alongside them in Cuba for some years, and our thoughts are with the staff, suppliers and customers affected."
The CAA confirmed the failure of Live Holidays on Tuesday, and its brands Cuba Direct (cubadirect.co.uk) and Live Cuba (livecuba.co.uk), the latter being the company’s trade-facing operation.
Captivating Cuba said it was receiving a high volume of calls and emails about whether it could assist by taking over Live Holidays bookings and helping with arrangements previously booked with Cuba Direct and Live Cuba.
"We are doing our upmost to respond and assist everyone as soon as possible, prioritising where we can those already in Cuba or travelling imminently," the statement continued. "We are also liaising with the CAA on the matter and have offered our support to them to assist clients in Cuba and those due to travel."
The operator said an agents and/or customers placed in a difficult situation by the collapse of Live Holidays, or needed any help with upcoming Cuba bookings, should get in touch. "We will do our very best to help you regardless of whether you book with us or not," it said.
"The easiest and fastest way for us to deal with your enquiry is if you can please send us an email with your current booking and the services that you need replicating or any advice you need or questions you have.
"If you have customers currently in resort with Cuba Direct / Live Holidays / Live Cuba, please contact us and we will arrange for our local team in Cuba to help and support your clients as much as possible."
