Carlisle Lake District airport has appointed a general manager to lead its development six months after commercial flights were relaunched.
Simon Williamson will also manage operations at the Stobart Group-owned airport.
Williamson was previously commercial and sales manager for Aviator MAN Limited. Prior to that, he was executive director of aviation firm Indigo Lyon.
The appointment follows the first commercial flights at the airport in 26 years, with Loganair serving Belfast, Dublin and Southend.
Glyn Jones, of Stobart Aviation, said: “In January, we celebrated our six-month anniversary since the launch of commercial flights and Simon’s appointment comes as the airport continues to grow from strength to strength.
“He will play a vital role in supporting the local community, as well as with our freeport bid alongside Carlisle City Council.”
