Carnival Cruise Line has announced details about four of new-ship Carnival Celebration’s six onboard zones.
The vessel, which is due to launch in Miami in November, will offer an atrium in Celebration Central, which will span decks six, seven and eight.
Celebration Central will also feature a ceiling made of approximately 1,400 colour-changing lighting fixtures that will transform from day to night.
The space will also include 3,000-square-foot floor-to-ceiling windows on the side of the ship that will change into 16 individually controlled, six- by 14-foot LED screens to work hand in hand with the ship’s entertainment options, including live music, special effects and aerial acrobatic performances.
Celebration Central will also include food and beverage options, such as JavaBlue Cafe, Bonsai Sushi and Bonsai Teppanyaki, and entertainment such as Piano Bar 88 and The Punchliner Comedy Club.
Meanwhile, The Ultimate Playground zone will feature Bolt, the second roller coaster at sea, the first being onboard sister ship Mardi Gras.
The zone will also offer the WaterWorks aqua park and SportSquare, featuring a mini-golf course, full-court basketball and a ropes course.
The Summer Landing zone on deck eight will continue to serve as a "chill spot at sea" with Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, pools, whirlpools, The Watering Hole poolside bar and the Heroes Tribute Lounge.
And the poolside zone, Lido, will feature a two-level RedFrog Tiki Bar, Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken restaurant, Guy’s Burger Joint, Seafood Shack and BlueIguana Cantina.
Ben Clement, senior vice president of new builds, refurbishment and product innovation, said the line is incorporating elements from its former ships to "pay homage" to the history of Carnival.
"While similar to Mardi Gras with a plethora of options for dining, entertainment and relaxation, Celebration will have its own personality, one that celebrates all things Carnival, intertwining where we have been with where we are going," he added.
