Carnival Cruise Line is set to become ’the largest cruise line’ to use the VeriFLY app in a bid to streamline its embarkation process.
The app, which is widely used in the airline industry, will allow guests to upload their proof of vaccination and testing information so it can be verified in advance of the sailings.
The line will run a pilot programme on Saturday (19 January) for guests sailing onboard Mardi Gras at Port Canaveral.
Plans will also be finalised to expand in-terminal testing capabilities for vaccinated guests prior to embarkation.
On 13 January, Carnival restarted operations from Charleston with Carnival Sunshine returning to its year-round schedule.
The line currently has 19 of its 22 US-based ships in guest operation, sailing from eight homeports on the Atlantic, Gulf and West coasts.
