Crystal Ski Holidays has launched its complete range of shorter duration packages to five countries, aiming at those who want more flexibility than the traditional seven-night trip.
Three, four, five or six-day trips now feature in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Norway and Switzerland. Itineraries cover mid-week or long weekends, with flights, transfers and accommodation included. Options include half-board hotels and self-catering.
The range now includes city stays in Innsbruck, a short distance from the slopes, plus lesser-known resorts like Les Houches in France and Seefeld in Austria.
Crystal said: “Whilst customers are still opting for seven-night holiday packages, shorter duration breaks are performing well and attracting interest from new customers.” It added Chamonix was the most popular resort choice.
“This new programme not only makes skiing more accessible but also provides an appealing option for seasoned skiers who may prefer to book multiple winter trips throughout the season.
“Additionally, it offers new or returning skiers an alternative, particularly those who may not want to commit to a full week-long, seven or fourteen-night holiday.”
Crystal said December was currently its most popular month for travel, with bookings up “more than 10% year-on-year, particularly around the new year period”.
Family demand continued to be “strong”, accounting for 20% of all bookings. However, there had also been a “significant” year-on-year increase from the 25-34s and double-digit percentage increase for the 35-44 age group.
Chris Logan, Crystal Ski Holidays managing director, said: “Cultivating the next generation of skiers is important to us, not only does this reflect a growing interest in ski holidays amongst younger skiers, but it also helps grow the overall market and ensure longevity for the industry’s future.”
In terms of resorts, France takes the top three best sellers, with Tignes the most popular, followed by La Plagne and Val Thorens.
