Destination Canada has relaunched its Canada Specialist training portal after going offline in November 2019.
Adam Hanmer, the tourist board’s travel trade manager, said: “Born out of the Covid-19 emergency, we felt that by bringing all the Canada training programmes into one hub made sense to make life easier for those agents who want to improve or update their Canada knowledge.”
The revamped hub gathers training schemes from Destination Canada’s commercial, provincial, city and territory partners, initially Air Canada, Rocky Mountaineer, Vancouver, Montreal, Ontario and Alberta.
The site also offers “virtual Canada” training methods, including videos showcasing the country’s attractions, landmarks and festivals, and a recently filmed webinar collection. The series of one-on-one interviews, named Canada All Stars, asks expert travel professionals for their top tips on selling the destination.
Hanmer, who chairs Canada All Stars, said: “It’s been an honour to interview some of the tour operators and agents who have been proudly and enthusiastically promoting Canada over the years.”
“We hope they’ll find it a useful tool in their resource kit and that it arms them to meet the expectations of future clients”, he added.
Agents can find the new portal at canadaspecialist.co.uk and view a sample of Canada All Stars below.
