EasyJet has made a short notice addition to its routes from Southend airport, adding a Faro service from May.
The route will operate on Monday and Friday from 2 May. Faro is the third route from easyJet to be reinstated since the airline returned to Southend after an absence of almost 18 months. One way fares start from £22.99.
Flights to Palma will start on May 1 and Malaga a day later.
EasyJet announced its intention to return to Southend in December, a month after Ryanair ceased operations there.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to operate flights to Faro from Southend once again, and provide our customers more choice for next summer.
"We remain committed to strengthening our unrivalled short-haul network and providing more affordable and easy connections to our customers across the UK, by offering low fares, and more choice when they travel.”
