EasyJet relaunches Alicante route from Newcastle airport
James ChappleEasyJet has relaunched flights to Alicante from Newcastle airport.
The twice-weekly service took off on Tuesday (2 April). EasyJet will operate the route on Tuesdays and Saturdays through to the end of October. Fares lead in from £28.99pp.
Agents can package up Alicante and Costa Blanca breaks via easyJet holidays using the new flights. Packages include flights, accommodation, 23kg luggage and transfers.
Leon McQuaid, Newcastle’s director of aviation development, said the route provided more choice to one of the airport’s most popular destinations, opening up the coast and its old town district.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, added the route – and easyJet holidays’ packages – would provide options for family breaks to luxury all-inclusive getaways.
Later this year, easyJet will relaunch Amsterdam from Newcastle. Twice-weekly flights, operating on Thursdays and Sundays, will resume from 5 September.
