Emirates will restore its Australia flights to pre-pandemic levels by June as it continues to ramp up its UK capacity with more Airbus A380 flights.
Emirates’ Australia flights will return to pre-pandemic levels to Melbourne from 26 March, Sydney from 1 May and Brisbane on 1 June. Sydney will operate three times a day non-stop, while Melbourne will offer the same frequency via Singapore. Brisbane will become twice-daily.
From 26 March, one daily frequency to Sydney will continue to Christchurch.
The additions are part of a 31% capacity increase for the summer season, which will see the airline offer 119 flights a week to Dubai from the UK.
Emirates will reintroduce its A380 service to Glasgow on 26 March and Birmingham on 1 July, as well as a second daily service from Stansted on 1 May, taking Emirates’ London operations up to 11 daily flights. Emirates has now refurbished four A380 aircraft with new cabin interiors and Premium Economy seats, with some operating to Heathrow.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer, said: “Emirates continues to expand its global network and deploy its capacity to meet travel demand across the world.
“Our financial year started relatively quietly as we held back our ramp-up until the planned northern runway rehabilitation programme at Dubai International airport was completed in June. From July 2022 onwards, it’s been non-stop expansion.”
