The Family Holiday Association has named its new chief executive.
Kat Lee will be joining the charity in January 2020 from a role as Girlguiding head of youth programmes.
In that post, she involved 50,000 girls and young women in the biggest overhaul of the charity’s history.
“I am delighted to be joining the Family Holiday Association as chief executive,” Lee said.
“The charity has a proud history of supporting the families who need it most to take a break, connect with one another and make memories they can treasure forever.
“I am looking forward to working with staff and partners to enable many more families to step away from the challenges of daily life and have fun together on a much-needed break.”
Lee has previously worked at The Science Museum and the Houses of Parliament, enabling young people and families to access these attractions.
Chair of trustees at the Family Holiday Association, Philippa Harris, added the association is a charity which has provided struggling families with holidays for more than 40 years.
She said: “We believe we should now step up our activities to respond to the challenging circumstances families are facing and help even more of them over the coming years.
“We are delighted Kat has agreed to join us to drive that change for the future.
“Her experience supporting girls to achieve at Girlguiding coupled with her energy and outlook reflects our ambition for the future of the Family Holiday Association.”
