Flight Centre UK has promoted Joe Beevis to the role of general manager and tasked him with the growing the agency’s high street retail network.
Beevis succeeds Lucy Clifton and takes on responsibility for Flight Centre’s growth strategy in the UK, which includes increasing the brand’s "bricks and mortar" presence nationally.
The brand is also aim to grow sales across its specialist, luxury, round-the-world and groups teams in the UK, and expand its dedicated business travel division.
A Flight Centre veteran of 15 years, Beevis joined the business as a retail consultant in London before progressing into a succession of senior roles through Flight Centre’s managerial fast track scheme.
He has worked across its leisure, corporate and supply divisions, including with Flight Centre Business Travel, with its round-the-world team, and in its specialist retail divisions. Most recently, he was general manager of corporate land supply.
Clifton, meanwhile, will transition into a senior role in Flight Centre Travel Group’s global learning and development team.
Beevis said it was an honour to take over from Clifton and seek to build on hers and her team’s work over the past few years. "The importance of travel agents is becoming more and more apparent to travellers," he said.
"As we further Lucy’s vision for the resurgence of the high street travel agency, and growth of our business travel and specialist teams, I’m excited to take the lead on expanding the business."
Clifton added: “There couldn’t be a better person for the role than Joe. I have every faith in his ability to keep growing Flight Centre UK and I’m looking forward to my new role, where I’ll focus on the professional development and progression of our experts."
