Airlines have rallied to offer jobs to the 276 Flybe staff who were made redundant on Saturday (28 January) when the regional carrier went into administration.
A statement on the airline’s website confirmed it had ceased trading and Interpath Advisory had been appointed as administrators.
In response, Wizz Air announced plans to host online and in person recruitment events, in Birmingham and online, for former Flybe cabin crew and pilots.
Pilots interested in joining the airline can register for an online recruitment event which will take place on Monday (30 January) at 1pm.
Meanwhile, cabin crew recruitment events will take place in Birmingham on 3 and 4 February at 9am.
Marion Geoffroy, managing director of Wizz Air UK, said: "We are saddened to hear the news about Flybe and understand the anxiety employees must be feeling at this time.
"In response to the news, we have organised special recruitment events for all Flybe cabin crew and pilots to learn more about the opportunities we have to offer."
Meanwhile, easyJet and Ryanair have encouraged displaced Wizz staff to apply for roles with the budget operators.
EasyJet has more than 250 vacancies for cabin crew, while Ryanair said it had vacancies in all categories, including pilots, engineers and ground staff.
In a post on Ryanair’s careers website, it said: "We have positions for all of you, across all areas of our business, including flight crew, cabin crew, engineers, ground staff and office staff."
