Former industry executive Steve Endacott is using an online avatar of himself to stand in the general election.
AI Steve is the alter ego of the former Airtours chief, who is now chair of artificial intelligence firm Neural Voice.
Endacott, who lives in Rochdale, is standing in the Brighton Pavilion seat where, according to his website, he “maintains a house”.
He says he will use AI to ensure the people of Brighton and Hove have “24/7 access to leave opinions and create policies” via AI Steve.
The website adds: “AI Steve could become the ’Founding Father’ of how politics works in the future.”
Endacott will be hoping for a stronger showing in 2024 than his last attempt to gain office.
In 2022, he stood as a Conservative candidate for a council seat in Rochdale, coming last of the seven candidates with 487 votes.
