Former STA Travel MD to lead specialist's trade push
Former MemberFormer STA Travel managing director Kevin Duckworth has joined pilgrimage specialist McCabe Travel to lead the specialist’s launch to the trade.
Duckworth will take up the newly created commercial director role at McCabe this week. He previously ran a digital sales and marketing consultancy with a range of trade clients, and is a previous managing director of Preston Travel Group, FX Travel and STA Travel.
McCabe managing director Paul Ellerby said he would work with Duckworth to extend the company’s range of travel options, and explore new routes to market – including via agents.
“I’m really pleased to be joining McCabe Travel at this stage in its development,” said Duckworth. “It is the market leading brand in its niche, and very focused on client needs.
“I’m looking forward to expanding the product and bringing more travellers to experience the expert advice and service offered by the team.”
One of Duckworth’s first aims will be to help fill places on this year’s Oberammergau Passion Play after the 2020 season was postponed.
McCabe Travel was founded in 1983 and is a member of Aito.
It organises a wide range of pilgrimages and tours to the Holy Land, Jordan, Armenia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, and further afield to Nepal and Ethiopia.
It also offers a range of short breaks in the UK.
