The French government is reportedly poised to reopen the country’s borders to fully vaccinated British travellers.
Since 20 December, UK arrivals have been banned from entering the country unless they have a "compelling reason" to visit.
However, according to The Times, an announcement could come as soon as Wednesday (12 January), which would set out plans to lift the restrictions from Saturday (15 January).
Citing French MP Alexandre Holroyd, the paper said the border would open "very soon" to fully vaccinated Brits.
Meanwhile, The Independent reports that some ski operators are so confident restrictions will be eased that they are selling winter sports trips for the coming weekend.
"We are expecting the French government to make an announcement this Wednesday to confirm that British vaccinated skiers can enter France from this Saturday (15 January)," read a marketing email from Skiline.co.uk, highlighted by the paper.
"If the announcement is made as we expect, you will be one of the few lucky skiers in France this weekend. If no announcement is made this Wednesday (12 January), we will refund your credit card before this Friday."
If the restrictions are eased, tourists will still need to adhere to strict new rules such as the requirement for over-65s to provide proof of a booster jab to access most venues. From 15 January, the requirement will be extended to everyone aged 18 or over.
