Germany's Aida to restart cruise operations next month
James ChappleAida Cruises will restart operations next month, the line has confirmed.
Carnival Corp’s German brand had initially planned to resume sailing on 5 August.
However, the line was forced postpone its relaunch when it was left awaiting approvals from flag state Italy.
Aida now plans to resume cruise operations from Kiel on 6 September.
AIDAperla, meanwhile, will sail a series of Norwegian fjords itineraries from Hamburg departing 12, 19 and 26 September.
The line will yet have to demonstrate its new Covid health and safety protocols to the responsible authorities in Italy.
And owing to the Covid situation in several proposed European destinations, Aida has extended the pause in its planned cruise season until 30 September, barring those departures from Kiel and Hamburg.
